Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Platonov captured a mesmerising view of the Milky Way from a porthole aboard the International Space Station, the agency reported on its Telegram channel on Sunday. Footage shows thousands of stars scattered across a hazy sky, with the dense, luminous band of the galaxy clearly visible from orbit. The Milky Way is a barred spiral galaxy and the second-largest in the Local Group after Andromeda, containing an estimated 100 to 400 billion stars. | ABS-CBN News
