Thanks to a collaborative rescue effort over Mother's Day weekend, two manatees may have second chances at life. A pregnant manatee was rescued from a boat strike by Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium and FWC Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, and brought to our rescue center, where the manatee has since given birth to a healthy calf.
