At first glance, NGC 7456 may appear to be just another spiral galaxy. However, this galaxy is filled with fascinating secrets! The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope has been helping astronomers understand its evolution, while ESA’s XMM-Newton satellite has been imaging unusual X-ray sources 🩻 from within the galaxy which are far more powerful than would be expected for their size. 📍 NGC 7038 This spectacular spiral galaxy is about 220 million light-years away, in the constellation Indus. Alongside NGC 7038, several distant stars and other galaxies shine around it. Hubble observed NGC 7038 for 15 hours, collecting lots of light and data – and this richly detailed galactic view.
