Yesterday evening, AMSA detected an EPIRB activation about 80km north of Townsville, Queensland, from a 7.5m steel recreational vessel, Kaluga Q, with 3 people on board. Four men, who were occupants of a boat, were reportedly thrown into the water after their vessel was hit by a wave. They activated an EPIRB and emergency services were able to attend their location.
