Nov 13, 2020 · I believe the issue is that mac OS Big Sur is limiting the amount of power going through the USB-C ports, therefore there is not enough power to supply the plugged devices in the USB hub. As mentioned by @benprice606, you actually need to plug the power cable into the USB hub, then connect the hub to the USB-C port on the computer...

Since this Mac only has 2 usb-c ports, I already bought a Belkin usb-c hub with 2x cdmi, 1x usb 3.0, 1x usb 2.0 and 1x ethernet. When I plug it in, the device recognizes something is plugged in, and connecting an ethernet cable works fine.

Jan 20, 2022 · None of these have that many USB connections. A solution I initially took in a similar situation: A USB-C hub with power pass through (Belkin Multimedia USB-C hub to be exact). Besides the ports, I wanted ethernet. Connected a multiport USB Hub to it (7 Port USB 3.0 HUB + 2 Charging Ports with 12V/4A Power Adapter (HB-U930) to be exact).
