[Digital Foundry] How PlayStation 5 Pro lays the groundwork for …
Oct 1, 2024 · Richard is saying that the PS5 Pro sets up a PS6 in the same way that NVIDIA's 20-series set up the current generation of path-traced, AI-upscaled and frame-generated games on PC. Jan 19, 2025 · That said, I think knowing this, Sony will extend this generation out to be a longer one, even if PS6 hardware is locked in and decided upon in time for a typical generational transition to begin -- just in hopes of normalizing dev cost and dev timelines before introducing the challenges of even more powerful (and expensive to work with) hardware.

Jun 13, 2023 · PS6 will be back compatible, there is no going back. Phil Spencer said it all when he said that Xbox lost the worst generation possible (the PS4, Xbone gen) because that was the gen where digital finally came together for real and was truly a …

Jan 23, 2025 · Read the actual question. The interviewer isn't probing about exclusivity. He's talking about the fact that Remake came out on PS4, Rebirth came out on PS5, and people are scared that Regenesis won't come out until PS6, meaning that for all three parts of the trilogy people need to buy a whole new console to play each one.

Jan 6, 2025 · It may offer a 4K 240 mode, but unless AMD has an insane glow-up in the next 2 years and the 11070 XT blows away Nvidia, I wouldn't expect PS6 to even be all that dissimilar from PS5 Pro, especially given that Mark Cerny said basic GPU raster upgrades are getting boring and he's focusing more on AI and upscaling going forward.

Dec 18, 2024 · Cerny stated that it takes about 4 years to design a new console, and with now being 4 years away from the likely launch of the PS6, I think it'd be nice to discuss what we'd like to see that machine be capable of. I'll kick off my list: 1. Dual Wi-Fi chips. I'd like to see the PS6 have two Wi-Fi chips so one can be used to connect to the ...

Do you believe that the PS6 will have BC with all of our PS4
Aug 16, 2023 · PS6 will definitely support PS5, just as an absolute given especially with cross gen periods being a thing. PS4 is extremely likely, like 98% chance that they fully support that as well. Neither company is going to drop backwards compatibility, it's far too ingrained in their business models at this point.
Do you think the PS6 will launch in 2028? - ResetEra
Sep 20, 2024 · The last two launches would tell us we should expect November 2027 for PS6. However, I feel like a lot of areas in the traditional gaming industry have been moving at a slower pace recently (studio releases in general, milestone selling titles, noticeable graphical enhancements, PS5 Pro launch)...
