Wake County Animal Center temporarily closes after 3 dogs die from canine illness
RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Wake County Animal Center is temporarily closing for 30 days due to an outbreak of a canine illness. The center said a recent outbreak of Streptococcus zooepidemicus resulted in the death of three dogs, and that the shelter will be closed beginning on Friday, Feb. 7 for at least 30 days to help contain the illness.
