Widespread drone attacks hit Russia overnight
The Russian Telegram channel Shot reported at least a dozen of powerful explosions at about 3:40 a.m. EET followed by a fire at the Yartsevo oil depot in Smolensk Oblast. The “Ukrainian UAV attack” was allegedly “suppressed” by air defenses, local Governor Vasily Anokhin said, adding that debris from one of the drones fell on the territory of an oil depot, which “causing a fuel spill and the ignition of fuel and lubricants.” Emergency services are on the scene to “localize the consequences.” Read also: HIMARS strike wipes out Russian command meeting in Zaporizhzhya Oblast Explosions and air defense operations were also reported in Kozacha Bay in the occupied Black Sea port of Sevastopol, Crimea. According to Russian-appointed Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev, air defenses allegedly shot down two drones over the sea, as well as a naval drone. The Russian MoD claimed the alleged “destruction” of 25 drones over Bryansk Oblast, 17 over occupied Crimea, 11 over Krasnodar Krai, 10 over Smolensk Oblast, and two over Tver Oblast, as well as over one each over Rostov, Kursk, and Kaluga oblasts.
