According to Oregon and California’s fire departments, trucks were stopped in Davis, California, just outside Sacramento, for maintenance and safety checks, and those trucks continued onward. Photos and news coverage confirm that trucks from other states were assisting firefighters in Los Angeles.

Officials in California and the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s office have rebutted claims that a lack of "smog certification" or needing "emissions testing" kept Oregon fire trucks from aiding with the Los Angeles fire response.

California’s call for help meant a quick mobilization for the Oregon Department of Forestry’s strike teams. Within 24 hours, six teams were en route to help tackle the blazes, and they’re making an impact according to an ODF representative on the ground in LA County.

Forecasters said winds were expected to return Monday as crews work to control the fires. Red flag warnings were issued by the National Weather Service for Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles counties.
