New York Mets’ slugger Pete Alonso had plenty to say after Tuesday’s dramatic MLB All-Star Game. While speaking to reporters, the 30-year-old suggested that Major League Baseball (MLB) should adopt a “hockey-style” approach when it comes to on-field altercations.

While speaking to media ahead of the 2025 MLB All-Star Game, Alonso, who is making his his fifth All-Star appearance, suggested that players should not get ejected for charging the mound or fighting. Instead, he believes MLB should follow hockey's style, which tolerates fighting to happen between players during games.

Pete Alonso kept himself fresh for the All-Star Game and it paid off. However, skipping the Home Run Derby could hurt the event long term.
