ZipCharge is a new U.K.-based startup that has unveiled the Go. It's a suitcase-sized battery pack that weighs in at about 50 pounds. With a 4 kWh capacity, it can charge an EV at 7.2 kW.
That said, the ZipCharge Go isn’t available yet. According to InsideEVs, the startup plans to release a 4 kWh and an 8 kWh version, as well as to start deliveries in the fourth quarter of 2022.
ZipCharge says that the 4-kWh Go needs a little over 30 minutes to give an EV about 20 miles of range, and double that time for the 8-kWh unit.
ZipCharge will produce two versions of the Go: a 4-kilowatt-hour version that can deliver up to 20 miles of range in an average EV, and an 8-kWh version that can provide up to 40 miles.
