You can make your audio louder in Audacity's editing software by utilizing the Amplify and Normalize effects.
check out this hint at MacOSX hints on how to do just this. You can use either Roxio Spin Doctor or the UNIX 'split' command to do it. You can then burn the files using iTunes or Toast or whatever.
