Injured monarch butterfly able to fly again after wing transplant at nature preserve on Long Island
Workers at the Sweetbriar Nature Center in Smithtown recently performed a wing transplant on the injured monarch butterfly.
The wing was in perfect shape," said Janine Bendicksen, director of wildlife rehabilitation at the Sweetbriar Nature Center in Smithtown, N.Y.
