Texas House committee on redistricting voted out of committee Monday evening a new version of a bill with proposed new congressional maps.

On Monday morning, the lawmakers boarded a jet at O'Hare shortly after 7 a.m., ending what had been a 15-day hiatus in Illinois.

Texas Democrats who left the state to stymie Republicans over redistricting have returned to Austin, ending a two-week standoff over President Donald Trump's plan to carve out five new GOP congressional seats.

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker said he's considered redrawing the state's congressional map in response to the Texas redistricting push to give Republicans 5 more seats, saying "everything has to be on the table.

A judge in Illinois denied Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s request to enforce civil arrest warrants for the absent Texas House Democrats currently in Illinois, arguing the court does not have the jurisdiction to rule in the matter.

In response, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott threatened to try to remove the Democrats from the state Legislature and said some of them may even be "felons."

Texas Republicans are trying to reconvene the state Legislature to vote on redrawing congressional maps in their party's favor.
