Venus Williams is back on the tennis scene and ready to compete for the first time in more than a year but she wishes her younger sister Serena were with her at the DC Open.

Venus Williams said her WTA comeback would be even more meaningful if Serena were playing too, but she’s focused on being “here for now.”

Venus, who won seven singles titles at grand slams between 2000 and 2008, last competed at the Miami Open in March last year
