The National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office extended the heat advisory for the Metroplex through 9 p.m. Saturday. Rising humidity is expected to push the heat index, or “feels like” temperature, into extremely unpleasant territory, with some parts of the region possibly reaching 108.
Scorching temperatures combined with the high humidity are expected Thursday, July 24, the National Weather Service stated in the advisory. The advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. through 8 p.m., with the head index reaching a high of 105.
Heavy rain and thunderstorms are coming through Indianapolis, amid a heat advisory. Scatter showers will pour throughout central Indiana with rain rates of 1-2 inches per hour in the strongest storms.
