The Auburn football program announced Monday it will hold a ceremony to retire Newton’s No. 2 jersey during the Georgia rivalry game on Oct. 11. Only three other players have had their numbers retired in Auburn history.

Cam Newton will join Bo Jackson, Pat Sullivan and Terry Beasley as the four former Tigers to have their jersey number retired at Auburn.

Auburn athletics announced Monday that the No. 2 jersey, last worn by Heisman Trophy recipient and national championship-winning quarterback Cam Newton during the 2010 season, will officially be retired during a ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 11, when Auburn hosts Georgia for a night game at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
