A Boston Red Sox insider reported that it's possible Alex Bregman and the team reach an agreement on an extension before free agency.

First, though, Bregman is looking to return to the roster and provide a spark for an underperforming team that enters Monday’s series opener with the Reds at three games below .500 (41-44). The Red Sox are hopeful the healthy returns of both Bregman and Masataka Yoshida will catalyze an offense that has often looked dead in the post-Devers era.
