Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider faces a brutal decision this offseason at the quarterback position. He has about five weeks to decide whether or not to keep Geno Smith around for the final year of his contract. On March 16 Smith is due around $16 million in guarantees, a deadline that will spur a decision one way or another.

The Seattle Seahawks once again enter an offseason with questions about what to do at quarterback. Specifically, what to do with their starter, Geno Smith. Well, apparently these are questions to everyone in the world but head coach Mike Macdonald.

Head coach Mike Macdonald expressed his commitment to Geno Smith as the quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks and his belief that they can win a championship with Smith at the helm.

Seattle hasn't won a playoff game since 2019, and has only reached the postseason once (2022) in the three seasons Smith has been the team's starter. He will need a better supporting cast on the offensive line if Macdonald and the Seahawks hope to contend for a Super Bowl in 2025.
