In Android Studio, you’ll be coding with Java and using references to the Android SDK (Software Development Kit).

Project IDX is Google’s web-based development environment, and the technology is now being used to bring Android Studio to the web.

Google intends to focus all of its effort on improving Android Studio and advises developers move their active projects to Android Studio using the included migration tool.
