The Jimmy Butler-Heat saga got more interesting. Timberwolves forward Julius Randle is on Miami’s radar and has been since the offseason, SNY’s Ian Begley reported Tuesday. The Knicks parted ways with Randle before the season started in a trade that brought Karl Anthony-Towns to New York.

In the latest episode of the NBA’s everlasting soap opera, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been described as a team to watch as the Miami Heat attempt to trade Jimmy Butler.

Anthony Edwards dominated the struggling Knicks, who were again outplayed in the fourth quarter, again barraged by 3-pointers and again lost handily, 116-99, Friday night to the Timberwolves.

Randle went to the locker room during the second quarter of Thursday's game against the Jazz with an apparent right thigh injury, Chris Hine of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Randle looked to be in significant discomfort and didn't waste much time before heading in to the locker room to be examined further.

Randle's 28 points during Wednesday's victory were his most since Nov. 17. While Randle continues to be a strong rebounder and quality secondary playmaker, he has struggled mightily with his outside shot as of late. The 30-year-old forward is converting just 18.6 percent of his 4.3 three-point attempts per contest across his last 10 appearances.
