The SIM Card Slot Location on iPads With Cellular The SIM card slot has switched location a few times on cellular ‌iPad‌ generations, so checking which model you have should help you find it.

Regular and Micro-SIM cards are too big for the iPad or iPhone, but this trick enables you to cut down a SIM card to a Nano-SIM so it fits into an iPhone or iPad.

Note that the iPad requires a micro-SIM card. You can cut a full-size SIM down to micro-SIM size using a specialist tool or household cutting equipment but proceed at your own risk (see Resources).
