GitHub Copilot is an OpenAI-powered Visual Studio Code extension that can suggest lines of code or entire functions as you type.

The original AI-powered code completion tool stemming from early OpenAI technology, GitHub Copilot, now comes in a free tier for the Visual Studio IDE and Visual Studio Code, along with other editors.

Now, it is enabled for all Copilot for Individual users for free, supported in both Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code editors.

Visual Studio 2012 is now able to connect to any Git host, including TFS, CodePlex, GitHub and Stash, using an extension available today as Update 2 preview.
