Lots of kids spend the summer playing with Lego bricks. Not that many spend it building and programming Lego robots.

At Kingwood Middle School and Kingwood High School, students are getting a more hands-on learning experience with building robots thanks to a $25,000 grant to expand its robotics program.

Northern Nevada’s students set out to make their Lego robots attach a little longer and drive a little farther Saturday as Eagle Valley Middle School hosted the region’s FIRST LEGO League Qualifier.
