Google Earth version 6 was released Monday giving new meaning to up close and personal. The upgrade adds integrated Street Views into Google Earth along with a new emphasis on trees.

Google began rolling out new high-resolution 3D imagery today on both Google Maps and Google Earth, starting with New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Google plans to release the first three-dimensional maps for several cities by the end of the year, the company said at a news conference at its San Francisco offices on Wednesday.
