Starting with Windows 10 Preview Build 21332, which began rolling out this week, when you do a clean install of Windows 10 the Paint 3D and 3D Viewer applications won’t be included by default.

Windows 10 3D Viewer As a place to store all those 3D object files that Microsoft thought people would be downloading, they created a '3D Objects' folder in each user's user profile directory.

That didn't last long. By 2021, 3D Viewer and Paint 3D were removed from the default app install list on Windows 10, meaning you had to install it from the store.

Microsoft is quietly retiring its Paint 3D Windows app. The app, which was launched in 2016, will no longer receive updates and will be removed from the Microsoft Store on November 4.

Microsoft announced that the Paint 3D graphics app will be discontinued later this year and removed from the Microsoft Store in November.
