A new series of MasterChef which was recorded before presenters Gregg Wallace and John Torode were sacked will be shown on BBC One and iPlayer, the corporation has announced. The BBC said it had taken the decision "after careful consideration and consultation with the contestants".

According to reports in The Sun, the TV chef and host of Saturday Kitchen, Matt Tebbutt, will join MasterChef to judge next year’s contestants. The BBC has confirmed that the amateur series of MasterChef, filmed last year before the sacking of Gregg Wallace and John Torode, will still air in full.
