Microsoft has begun testing a redesigned Start menu that incorporates features it's previously tested separately: a wider Start menu, and one that's been redesigned into categories and grids.

The Start menu is the gateway to everything on a Windows PC, from files to apps to settings, and it looks as though Microsoft is planning a substantial refresh for the menu's interface.
