The next beaver moon will reach its peak in the United States on Friday, November 15 at 4:28 p.m. ET. This is the final supermoon of 2024, meaning it will be around 15% brighter than a regular full moon. The fact that it also happens to reach its peak at night means it will be extremely visible.

In case November’s astrological events haven’t been chaotic enough so far, you’ll want to buckle up, because the full Beaver Moon that rises on Nov. 15 will likely take you on some jolty turns and surprise detours.

The Full Beaver Supermoon gets its name because it tends to happen around the same time as when beavers start to take shelter in their lodges, according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac. It’s also historically when hunters would trap beavers for their pelts.
