RENSSELAER — Less than three months after its post-pandemic reopening, Amtrak has suspended its Adirondack service between New York and Montreal, North Country officials said Monday.
Last summer, Amtrak reopened full service on the Maple Leaf line, which links New York City and Ontario, Canada. It has been much tougher to relaunch service between New York and Montreal.
Train 68 — called the Adirondack — was heading from Montreal when the train experienced what Amtrak called a “mechanical issue” near Albany, N.Y., just before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
