In September, we’ll know whether or not The Office spin-off actually works. The Paper won’t premiere on broadcast TV like its predecessor—an unfortunate sign of the times, but Peacock probably still needs the subscriber boost to justify its existence.
The show, in which the documentary crew from The Office lands on a new subject, is called The Paper. It follows the publisher (Domhnall Gleeson) and staff of a historic but struggling newspaper in Toledo, Ohio.
This morning, it was revealed at NBCUniversal’s Upfront presentation in New York City that the Greg Daniels and Michael Koman-produced comedy series The Paper will premiere on Peacock in Septemb er. A first-look photo shows Domhnall Gleeson standing on top of a desk talking to the employees, which includes Oscar Nuñez.
