A Monroe man was federally charged for calling in a bomb threat to Spirit Airlines at Detroit Metro Airport after arriving too late for his flight.

A Monroe, Michigan, man accused of calling in a fake bomb threat that halted a Spirit Airlines flight at the Detroit Metro Airport was taken into custody, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

John Charles Robinson was arrested in connection with the bomb threat after he had booked a seat on Spirit Airlines Flight 2145.
