A protest in Appleton’s Houdini Plaza, scheduled for Thursday over what organizers are calling an attack on civil rights and voting rights.

Today marked the fifth anniversary of the death of Congressman John Lewis. More than 1,500 rallies were held across the country to honor the legacy of the civil rights leader.

Demonstrators have taken to the streets across multiple states on Thursday to protest President Donald Trump’s Administration in a day of action honoring the late civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis, with more events planned across the country in the evening.
