(NEXSTAR) — It’s been more than a decade since NBC’s “The Office” aired a new episode, and just over two decades since it came to U.S. televisions as a spin-off of a popular British show of the same name.

In 2024, Deadline reported that Greg Daniels, the producer responsible for Americanizing Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant’s beloved original British series The Office, had opened up a development room for a potential follow-up series.

A release date for The Office US spin-off show has been announced. The show entitled The Paper, is set in The Office universe and will premiere on Peacock this September. Ireland’s very own Domhnall Gleeson will star in the new series.
