Catherine Rampell, a Washington Post opinion columnist who has been a regular presence on CNN and other news programs, will join MSNBC a a co-host of its evening "Weekend" roundtable program, the latest new hire under network president Rebecca Kutler.

Catherine Rampell, syndicated opinion columnist for The Washington Post, will co-host the evening edition of MSNBC’s The Weekend. She will host along with Ayman Mohyeldin, with an additional co-host to be named.

Filling “The Weekend” chairs became necessary after newly-appointed MSNBC president Rebecca Kutler announced that the show’s current co-hosts, Symone Sanders-Townsend, Michael Steele and Alicia Menendez, will slide over to weekdays at 7 p.m. eastern.

Catherine Rampell is an opinion columnist for The Washington Post and, just announced this morning, come this spring, she will be a co-host of the evening edition of “The Weekend” on MSNBC from 6 to 9pm ET Saturdays and Sundays alongside Ayman Mohyeldin and an additional to-be-named co-host.
