The University of Oregon linebacker, who was drafted by the Houston Astros after his NCAA baseball eligibility expired, can report to spring training or return to college to play football.

Oregon Ducks linebacker Bryce Boettcher will reportedly skip Houston Astros spring training and instead focus on the 2025 football season.

Boettcher announced his return for one more season of college football on Tuesday night. The Ducks had been pursuing a waiver from the NCAA for the linebacker to play a fourth and final year of football, and it appears to have been granted.
