Apple COO Jeff Williams is retiring after 27 years. His exit marks another recent major leadership shift at the company.

Apple on Tuesday named insider Sabih Khan as its chief operating officer, taking over from Jeff Williams, as part of a long-planned succession.

Sabih Khan is presently Apple’s senior vice president of Operations and will assume the chief operating officer (COO) role later this month.
